Drill sessions are designed to help you progress to the next level. Skipping to a higher level does not help your game.

Educational Ratings Program

Many of you have now heard about the Educational Ratings Program. This is an education driven initiative to bring structure to our player development offerings. Feedback from our drill session has been very positive. To provide more of these popular offerings, we need to develop a curriculum for instructors. The International Pickleball Teaching Professional Association (IPTPA) provides us a way to do this.

To get started, we need 50 members willing to be evaluated for the Nationally recognized IPTPA rating. The rating assessment provides detailed skills for different sill levels that can be used as the basis for our education curriculum. Skill levels ratings available to members range from 2.0 to 4.5. To view ratings criteria for the different skill levels visit the IPTPA website http://iptpa.com/iptpa-rating-skills-assessment/ or see the book located in the box under the Ramada.

IPTPA has offered to come to Quail Creek in January 2018 (date to be determined) and bring multiple, certified raters to rate 50 people. If we have more than 50 we will ask them to accommodate. The IPTPA rating is a 3-year rating at a cost of $15 per person, or $5 per year. A player can be retested for a higher rating during the 3-year period.

Please help us develop a standardized education program by signing up to participate in a rating evaluation. Signing up does not commit you to participate as we do not know the actual date. We also ask that you put the rating you think you will want in the comment field. You can change your mind on what rating you want prior to the evaluation. Our goal is to have 50 people signed up before the middle of December.

If you have questions, please feel free to contact Karen Morse, Jane Quick, Judy Lyle or Jean Bustard. To sign up click here.

QCPC Board Meeting on December 4

All QCPC Members are welcome to attend the next QCPC Board Meeting on December 4th at 1:00 PM in the Kino Center Conference Room.  If you have an item that you would like to add to the agenda, contact President Jean Bustard,  303-921-8139, jeanb@dcmesa.com.

Be Considerate of Sensitive QCPC Members- Don't Wear Scents to the Courts

We have some QCPC members who have negative reactions to scents, such as perfume and aftershave.  Pickleball is a great outdoors activity, and it is a sport so people generally do not wear perfume and other scents.  Please limit your use of scents when playing pickleball.

Pickleball in Sahuarita

On December 6, 2017 at 6:30 pm, the Sahuarita City Council will discuss the development of Pickleball courts somewhere within the town limits. While we have courts of our own, we should support the idea of building more courts.  QCPC members are encouraged  to attend this meeting at City Hall.
