Helle had a outstanding career as a professional tennis player, including playing all four major grand slams, and was a certified elite tennis instructor for over 30 years.  She is now one of the premier pickleball instructors in the country and author of the book Dynamite Doubles.  She now resides in Mesa AZ.

Helle will host a Doubles Strategy Seminar on Saturday November 17 from 2:30 to 4:30 on Court 1.  This Seminar is open to all QCPC members at no cost.

Small group and private lessons are available on both Saturday and Sunday for skill levels 3.0 and higher.  Small group is for 2 - 4 people of similar skill level.  Helle will give students a plan of how to set up a point by building on teamwork so the opponents have the least chance of hitting a clean winner.  She will work on offense and defense as well as shot-selection.  Signup for small group (2-4 people) or private lessons here.  The cost is $100/hour total for a group of 2-4 or $90/hour for a private lesson.

Trick or Treat

Because we do not get trick-or-treaters in Quail Creek, instead of giving candy to kids for Halloween, please donate a used pickleball paddle.  Your pickleball paddle donation is for local kids to learn and play pickleball in the schools.  A paddle donation box can be found in the ramada.

QCPC Skill-Level Round Robins

The Quail Creek Pickleball Club supports and encourages Skill-Level Round Robins.  These round robins improve play and are great fun!  Club-sponsored Skill-Level Round Robins are open to any Club member meeting the skill requirements.  As in the past, these events are run with random, rotating partners.  Skill-Level Play is scheduled outside of Prime Time Hours.

Experience has shown that the key to a successful Skill-Level Round Robin is ensuring that participants are playing at the proper skill level.  Under the guidelines approved by the QCPC Board, participants in QCPC Skill-Level Round Robins must:
a. hold the appropriate play-based skill rating from the USAPA or IPTPA, or
b. have participated in a pickleball tournament published on pickleballtournaments.com with results showing competitive play at the appropriate skill-level.

Club-sponsored Skill-Level Round Robins and their organizers will be listed on the QC Pickleball Club website.  Any Club member meeting the skill criteria may ask the Skill-Level Round Robin organizer to be included.  Sign-ups will be made on Sign-Up Genius on a first-come, first-served basis.  If there are not enough Club members at a particular skill level to practically conduct a round robin, guests (non-QC) may be invited.  However, there must be at least one Club member for every four guests.   Any Club member may organize a Club-sponsored Skill-Level Round Robin by completing and submitting for approval the Application for QCPC Skill-Level Round Robin (click here to see the application on QCPC website).   The link to this application is on the right side of the website under Club Resources.

Theme of the Month - Ready Position

Each month we will have a theme that will be emphasized in the clinics.  October is Ready Position.

Pickleball is a fast paced game.  The faster you are ready to return a ball, the better chance you have of making a good shot.  Your paddle should be ready BEFORE your opponent hits the ball.

Get into Ready Position quickly after every stroke.

In Ready Position paddle is up and in front of you, feet shoulder width apart, knees bent and weight on your toes. Get into Ready Position quickly after every stroke.
