New Terminology for QCPC Play

In an effort to bring clarification to the types of Scheduled Play offered by QCPC, we will now be using the following terminology:

There will now be 3 types of Scheduled Play at QCPC:

1.  Club Open Play
2.  Skill-Level Play
3.  Organized Play

Definitions:
Club Open Play for all QCPC members is available Monday-Saturday, year round, generally between 8 and 11 AM (earlier in the summer).  Club Open Play is on the upper courts.  Pickleball Club members may rotate into games.  No guests are allowed at Club Open Play.

Skill-Level Play follows the guidelines that we used for the old term of "Organized Play", where the participant must have a IPTPA/USAPA, or played in a tournament listed pickleballtournaments.com with results showing competitive play at the appropriate skill-level.   Currently, 3 of these Round Robins - 4.0+,  Womens 3.0/3.5, and 2.0, have been approved.  If a member wants to organize a "Skill-Level Play" Round Robin, he/she must fill out the form listed on our website, and email Dave Mungo (djmungo@hotmail.com,  Skill-Level Play Chairperson).  These Round Robins will not be announced weekly in the newsletter, but the links are available on the right side of the website (ww.qcpickleball.org).  Sign-up is required.

Organized Play consists of QCPC Board-approved Round Robins where no rating is required.  Presently, 2.5/3.0,  3.0/3.5,  3.5/4.0 Round Robins are scheduled weekly and sign-up is required.  In addition, the Wednesday morning Round Robin, is open to all QCPC members with no sign-up needed.

Organized Play Mixed Round Robin Update

There have been 2 changes to the Organized Play Mixed Round Robins.
1. There is a link at the right side of the website (www.qcpickleball.org) under  Organized Play Round Robin Sign Up.  You may sign up each week by clicking on that link.  The links become live 7 days prior to the event (i.e.  Tuesday are available on Wednesday the week before, Thursday is available the Friday before, and Fridays are available on the Saturday before).

2. The 3.0/3.5 Organized Play Mixed Round Robin has moved to Fridays from 9 am to 10:45 am, effective next week (December 14th).

Pickleball Paddles for Kids

Members of the Quail Creek Pickleball Club recently helped to create five new outdoor pickleball courts on the Continental School Playground.  Members have also donated their time to instruct 3-8 grade students on the basics of playing pickleball during their lunch recess.
Three portable nets, plenty of used pickleballs and some paddles have been donated for the students.  A grant to purchase two more portable nets has been requested from the USAPA.
More paddles are needed to meet the demand.  If you have an extra usable paddle that you would like to donate, please drop it off in the clear container in the ramada at the pickleball courts.
