Inter-community play

Attention Members who are in Quail Creek this Summer:

Green Valley Pickleball Club is hosting inter-community, skill level pickleball play this summer at the East Center (Esperanza & Abrego N).  Play will begin the week of May 30 and continue on a bi-weekly basis through the end of August.   Skill days are:

Tuesday 6 - 9 pm - Skill level 4.0
Wednesday 6 - 9 pm, Skill level 3.0
Friday 6 - 9 pm, Skill level 2.5
Sunday 4 - 7 pm, Skill level 3.5

Participation is limited to the first 19 who signup through Sign-Up Genius.  Play will use a round robin format and Neon Dura Fast Balls.  Participants will be asked to donate $2.00 once, to cover use of the balls.

Other clubs invited include Saddlebrooke Ranch, Saddlebrooke, Voyager, Tucson Racket Club and Tucson Country Club.

To play this summer, you need to be on the Green Valley Inter-Community Play email list.  Invitations will be sent out by skill level.  For example, 4.0 players will receive an invitation to signup for Tuesday nights, 4.0 players will not receive invitations for the other skill-level days.

If you are interested in participating, I put a signup sheet in a three-ring binder in the plastic storage box under the Ramada.  Please add your name, email and skill level to this sheet.  I will consolidate and get the your name to the proper coordinator at Green Valley.  I plan on sending a list to Green Valley this Friday afternoon.  If you don't get on the list this week, you will be able to signup at a later date.  FYI, I also have copies of the Invitation from GV and their Calendar in the folder.

I know many of you do not have a rating.  Please use the Rating Information on the QCPC website to assess yourself and only put one rating on the signup sheet, either 2.5, 3.0, 3.5 or 4.0.  If you feel that you are in the wrong skill level after playing, you can change by notifying the group coordinator at Green Valley.

If you have questions, Karen Morse or I would be happy to do our best to get your questions answered.

Jean Bustard

P.S. This is my first time using our blog and Mail Chimp.  Hopefully this goes out before Saturday afternoon, if not, sign up when you get this information.  I have not figured out how to attach files, which is why I put a copy of the invitation in the three-ring binder with the signup sheet.  Also, because we do not track skill levels with our member information, I felt the only way for me to get your name and skill level was to ask.  This inter-community play is a first for GV too, so please be understanding as we work through the learning curve.  Thanks - Jean
