Wednesday and Friday Round Robins
Wednesday
and Friday Round Robins will continue through the end of March,
beginning at 9 AM with check-in from 8:30 - 8:50 AM. Both Round Robins will be the
regular format using charts to assign courts. Beginning in April,
regular Round Robins will only occur on Wednesdays, beginning at 8:00
AM with check-in from 7:30 - 7:50 AM.
More Courts, Earlier Time for Club Open Play
Because
Club Open Play has been crowded, the QCPC Board has reserved two more
courts for Club Open Play on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday (after
April 1) and Saturday. (Round Robins or socials are on the other days.)
Courts 3 and 4 will be available for Club Open Play, and those can no
longer be reserved during Open Play. Remember only Club members can use
these courts during the Club Open Play times. The additional courts
will be reserved for Club Open Play until April 15th. The Board has
also changed to time for Club Open Play to 8 - 11 AM because the weather
is becoming hotter.
Tuesday Morning Drills
On Tuesdays from 8:00 to 9:00 AM, a one-hour clinic will be offered for all men and women, any skill level. We spend the hour working on footwork skills, specific paddle skills (dinking, lobing, 3rd shot drop, overhead shots, etc.) and stretching for pickleball players. The Clinic will be on Courts 1 and 2. There is no need o sign-up; just show up at 8:00 AM.
Self-Rated Skill Level Round Robin
Come
play against players that are at your same skill level in a Round-Robin
(RR) format. Skill Level is determined by a Self-Rating Tool completed
by the player. This RR takes place each Thursday from 1:00 to 3:00 PM
on Courts 5-8. Currently, we run 2.0-2.5 RR and 3.0 RR for women but
would like to expand to include men in their own Skill Level RR. If you
have not yet completed a Self-Rating Tool come to this RR a few minutes
early to determine your skill level. It is really fun to battle for
every point.
