Interest in IPTPA Ratings

It is possible that Rif from IPTPA can return to Quail Creek in January. We will only ask him if there is sufficient interest. If you are interested, please signup here and note the rating level you want to be tested for in the comment section. We need 4 people of the same level in each session. You must signup by 5:00 PM on Sunday, January 14.

Assisted Play on Mondays and Thursdays

Assisted Play continues on Monday and Thursday afternoons from 1 - 3 PM on Courts 5-7.  This is not a lesson, but experienced players will watch beginners play and give tips and pointers about how to improve play.  You should have either taken a beginner lesson or have some playing experience.  Click here to sign up for a Monday or Thursday during the next 2 weeks.

2.5 - 3.0 Drills

Drills for 2.5 to 3.0 players will be Thursday morning, January 18, from 10 - 12 AM on Courts 5-7.  There will be 3 coaches helping out on 3 courts.  Come to these drills if you are a 2.5-level player, between 2.5 and 3.0, or a "low" 3.0 player.  Do not sign up for both the 2.5 - 3.0 drills and the 3.0 drills.  Choose the one that is closest to your playing level.  Click here to sign up for the 2.5 - 3.0 drills this Thursday.  There will not be a drill session on January 25 but 2.5 to 3.0 drills will resume on Feb 1st, at the same time: 10:00-noon.

3.0 Drills are Back
The 3.0 drill clinics are back. Are you a 3.0 player (per IPTPA or USAPA) and want to improve your game. Then this is the clinic for you. This week we will be focused on drills for dinking and 3rd shot drops. We will also be playing a fun game at the end that incorporates everything you learn. Clinic size is limited to 12 players and will be offered on January 18th from 2 to 3:30 on courts 1 to 3. Click here to sign up for January 18. Note that you should sign up for only one set of drills each week, either the 2.5 to 3.0 drills if you are not at 3.0 or a "low" 3.0 player, or the 3.0 drills if you are a solid 3.0 player.

3.5 Drills on Fridays

Drills for 3.5 players will be held on Fridays for two groups of 8 players.  The first clinic will be on Friday, January 19,  from 1:00 - 2:15 PM and the second will be on January 19 from 2:15 - 3:30 PM.  Sign up for only one session each week. Sign-ups will begin on January 13 at 11 AM.  Click here to sign up.

Time to Order QCPC T-Shirts

Show your support of our club and Pickleball with a club shirt.  At $22 each, buy more than one of these comfortable tech shirts for yourself and your family.  Many great colors are available and you can get them with or without the back logo.

The deadline is for ordering is January 31, 2018.

The following logo will be on the back of the shirt, unless you opt to buy a shirt with the front logo only.

The following logo will be on the front of the shirt.

Print one form for each shirt and write a check for the complete order (one check is fine).  Drop the completed form(s) off by January 31 at Anne Smith’s home at 1926 N. Laguna Oaks Dr. (Unit 31) with your check (no cash) payable to "QCPC".  There is a box by the front door where you can put your form(s) and check.

The QCPC Board has selected TROPIC BLUE as the club endorsed color for Quail Creek team events.  It is marked with stars on the round neck picture (but there aren't stars on the shirt) and a check mark on the v-neck picture.

Additional colors that are available for purchase are listed on the order form.  Our pictures have more colors than what is available this year, so just look at the colors that are listed on the form and order one of those.
Colors for round neck shirts in both a men's and women's style can be seen here.
Colors for women's V-neck shirts can be seen here.

Dues are Now Overdue

Your 2018 dues were due on January 1, 2018. If you haven't yet paid dues, you may still pay by dropping off a check at the home of our Membership Chair, Susan Jones, 2620 Arica Way.  There is a box by her front door for dues. Dues are $20.00 a year. Make your check payable to QCPC. After January 31, we will eliminate non-paid individuals from our Membership list. You will no longer receive newsletters and you will no longer be able to participate in Club activities. So, if you wish to remain a QCPC member, please pay your dues as soon as possible.

Trouble with Lights at Night?

The lights on our courts will not turn on for 30 minutes after they have been shut off.  So, if someone is playing at night and turns off the lights on a court, other players cannot turn them back on until 30 minutes have passed.  There is nothing wrong with the lights.  This is how they are programmed.

Interested in Playing Singles?

Singles Pickleball is a very challenging, fun and demanding game. The strategy is much different than doubles as well as the physicality required. To prevent injury, you should be in good physical condition to play singles. You will get 3-4 times the amount of exercise in the same amount of time spent as playing doubles.
If you are interested in finding out about playing singles pickleball, come to court 5 on Tuesday, January 16 at 2:00.
