Car Pool to Help Parking Problems
We have so many pickleball players now that our parking lot is overflowing. Please either car pool or bring a smaller means of transportation (golf cart or bicycle) to the courts. If you bring your gold cart, park in the golf cart spaces or park 2 carts in auto spaces. You can even put 4 carts in the auto spaces if the back 2 carts have keys left in them and the owners don't mind someone moving them to get out. If there is no room in the parking lot, you may park in the multi-purpose lane. Patrol will set out cones to alert vehicles to the parked cars.
Mixed Singles Pickleball
The Quail Creek Pickleball Club is sponsoring Mixed Singles Pickleball on courts 5, 6, and 7 at 3:00 on Mondays and Fridays. Singles pickleball is a strenuous, active, and physically demanding sport. If you are physically fit to play singles pickleball, please join us. Singles pickleball strategy is much different than doubles. Sign up on Sign-up Genius and try it out.
Assisted Play for Beginners
Assisted play gives beginners a chance to play with other beginners while more experienced players watch and give pointers on how to improve their game. This is not a lesson, but it will give you playing experience. If you have taken a lesson and/or have some playing experience, this is a great way to improve your playing skills. The first hour will be assisted and the second hour will allow the beginners to play. After March 10, this will be every Monday and Thursday from 1 PM to 3 PM on Courts 5-7. You must sign up to attend. Sign up here.
March Joey Farias and Sean Rickard Academy
The Joey Farias and Sean Rickard Academy is a series of monthly clinics offered to Quail Creek Pickleball Club members rated 3.0 and above. Each month we will focus on a different theme with corresponding drills and strategies to improve your game. The next academy is Tuesday, March 20 from 9 - 11 AM. (Note- the day is Tuesday and not Monday as indicated in the flyer). The focus in March will be on the soft game! Learning how to control the speed and pace of the game is crucial to moving up. We will work on proper mechanics and concepts regarding drop shots, dinking, absorbing pace, and resetting the point. See more information here. The cost is $40 per person. E-mail Sean to register: Email: srickard4@gmail.com .
