QCPC Newsletter January 12, 2019

This is a short review of using the website Every Saturday, around 11:00 AM, a newsletter is sent out to members. Please be sure to view the entire newsletter by scrolling to the bottom. There is important information there too. Viewing the newsletter in an email will not give you the entire web version. At the top of the newsletter are tabs highlighted in green that reads "Visit the QCPC Website" and "Visit the QCPC on Facebook"  On a phone or some tablets clicking to visit the website doesn't let you see the entire web page. Scroll to the bottom of the newsletter page and click on "view web version".
Reading the newsletter on the website separately offers the ability to sign-up for those events not posted in every newsletter, such as the skill level play, organized play, or tournaments. These are located on the right-hand side of the web page. Be sure to scroll all the way down the page to see all that is on the web page. It also gives you a link to the instructions to be able to set up a Sign-Up Genius account. This is important because having your own account gives you the ability to delete your sign up when needed. I will include that link HERE. In the future, just go to the right-hand side of the web page to see where to click to get back to those instructions.
I will stay around after the Wednesday social to answers questions. Just look for me with my name tag: Candy Plumlee.

The Continental School District Board of Directors approved an after-school Pickleball Club for 5th-8th-grade students at their December 17, 2018 meeting.  The program can start when they receive donations of at least $350 to pay a school coordinator.
With the help of many QCPC members, five pickleball were painted on the outdoor basketball courts at Continental School on Whitehouse Canyon Rd.  In November and December, many volunteers helped to teach pickleball to the 3rd-8th-grade students during their lunch hour.
With grants from the USAPA, a donation from QCPC, and fundraisers, five portable nets were donated to the school.  30 paddles and 60 pickleballs were also donated.
All donations to the Pickleball Club at Continental Elementary School District can be claimed as an Arizona School Tax Credit up to $200/person, which is totally deductible from your Arizona Income tax. The Pickleball Club cannot start without your donation.  Please print the Tax Credit Donation Form here and send it with your donation. Contact Lenny Friedman if you have any questions.
Thanks for your consideration.

Your 2019 dues were due on January 1, 2019.

If you haven't yet paid dues, you may still pay by dropping off a check at the home of our Membership Chair, Susan Jones, 2620 Arica Way. There is a box by her front door for dues. Dues are $25.00 a year. Make your check payable to QCPC, making sure you put 2019 on the check. The bank will not take the check without the correct year.

After January 31, we will eliminate the names of non-paid individuals from our Membership list. You will no longer receive newsletters and you will no longer be able to participate in Club activities, including open play on Monday through Saturday mornings. So, if you wish to remain a QCPC member, please pay your dues as soon as possible.
