Pickleball Ramada
With the nice weather approaching more groups from Quail Creek are reserving the Pickleball Ramada. This weekend there are two groups that have reserved the Ramada. The Saturday group is from noon to 2:30, and Sunday from 1 to 5pm. Just a reminder that when the Ramada is reserved it is primarily their space to use, so please be respectful and do not use the space during that time. Please be aware of the extra traffic in the parking lot.

TO ARRANGE A TIME FOR PICK-UP
IPTPA rating sessions will be held on Wednesday March 13. A session requires 4 people going for the same skill level rating (i.e., 2.5, 3.0, 3.5 or 4.0). Please note skill level rating you want in the comment box, then others wanting same rating can sign up with you. Sean Rickard will conduct the ratings, he is a Certified Rating Specialist (CRS). Go to IPTPA website (IPTPA.com) to see requirements for each level.
If this is your first rating as QCPC member, you will need to join IPTPA for $15 as a 3-year individual member. The club will pay the CRS for your first rating.
If you have already been rated through QCPC, you do not need to rejoin IPTPA as your membership is valid for 3-years. You will need to pay the $25 CRS fee directly to the CRS.
Practice sessions will be held for those who signup for a rating.

PLAYER DEVELOPMENT
Warm-Up Routine by Rob Davidson
Put some regimen in your warm-up to hit the court ready to play with this 5 - 8 minute warm-up routine. This routine is done with a partner who will feed balls at 50 - 75% to help warm-up mind and shot mechanics. Both players have a specific role and skill to work on.
Warm up routine:
- Targeted dinks (3 to left foot, 3 to middle, 3 to right foot), other person work on lateral movement
- Alternate roles on Targeted dinks
- Regressive drops from NVZ to baseline (one step back, drop, one step back drop until baseline), then 3 - 5 drops from baseline, other person works on ball placement bouncing ball in front of partner
- 3 drives and 3 lobs from baseline, partner works on punch volley to keep person deep and overhead smash at 50%
- Progressive drops to the NVZ, partner works on ball placement
- Player 2 repeats 3, 4 and 5
- Fast volleys
