Fundrai$ing
The POA has finally approved the ability of the QCPC to raise funds for our Clubs use. We would like to form a committee of members to come up with ideas (including a tournament) to raise these funds. If you are interested in being on the committee, please email Steve Shapiro (sshapiro57@gmail.com)
Organized Play
Organized Play is returning the week of September 22nd. The schedule is as follows:
Tuesday 7 am 3.5/4.0
Wednesday evening at 7pm 3.0/3.5
Friday evening at 7pm 2.5/3.0
Remember, you don't have to be rated for playing at the level you choose, but be honest with yourself when deciding which day to play. Also this is a mixed round robin(male and female) and you must sign up ahead of time through Sign Up Genius (posted on the qc pickleball website).
In order for this to happen we need to have at least one Organized Play coordinator for each level. The Round Robin sheets are provided along with clipboards, we just need the volunteer to have everything out to play. The organizers do play in the Round Robin.
If you are interested in being the coordinator, please contact Dave Mungo djmungo@hotmail.com.
Finally, if you have are interested in forming a Skill-Level Play (requires a rating) Round Robin, the application is on the qc pickleball website under Club Resources.

IPTPA Rating Sessions Available Soon
QCPC ratings are done in accordance with the IPTPA (International Pickleball Teaching Professionals Association) rating program. You can be rated for levels 2.5, 3.0, 3.5 or 4.0 A rating consists of a series of skill tests followed by match play. It takes about 1-1/2 hours. The rating is administered by a Certified Rating Specialist (CRS). The club chose this rating system because it provides an excellent basis to learn the skills of pickleball.
If you are interested in participating in a rating, please add your name and skill level to be tested to the list using this signup https://www.signupgenius.com/ go/20f0e4ca8ae2fa3fc1-iptpa14. . We will need 4 people testing for the same skill level for each session, except 4.0, which requires 3 participants.
I am trying to arrange for Dee Davidson from Buckeye AZ to come down to administer the ratings. She is an accomplished 5.0 player, an excellent instructor and an experienced CRS. Once we have enough people showing interest, we’ll find a good date as soon as possible. We need 4 sessions filled to run the tests.
For more information on the skill requirements, visit the IPTPA website at https://iptpa.com/iptpa- rating-skills-assessment/.
Contact Jean Bustard at jeanb@dcmesa.com with questions.
Tuesdays at 7.00 pm
Drills are being offered this Tuesday night at 7:00 pm.
We’ll have 4 courts setup with a different drill on each.
No need to sign up and all skill levels welcome.
Introduction to Pickleball
Tuesday September 24 at 6:00 pm
We are going to try a different format for beginners this year.
It will start with Introduction to Pickleball that will be open to anyone in our community.
Attendees will have a chance to get on the courts to play, but the emphasis will be on introducing residents to the facility, safety items, our club and general rules.
If attendees are interested they can signup for a 2-session beginner class, but to do this they must be a QCPC member. You will see the Intro class advertised in What’s Happening.
I want to thank our board members for volunteering to help host this Intro class.
If anyone else would like to come down and greet new picklers let Jean know with a quick email to jeanb@dcmesa.com.
