PLAYER DEVELOPMENT
JEAN BUSTARD
Thank you all for attending our Drill sessions. We currently are offering Assisted Play, 2.0 and 3.5 skill level drills. 3.0 drills will start again later in the month and 2.5 drills start in November. We depend on our organizers and right now several are out of town.
How do you know which drill session to attend?
The wisdom from tennis and pickleball coaches is drill down and play up. Drilling at a higher level than where you are today does not help you improve at that skill. It takes practice to execute skills and once you have mastered the technique then you can add more advanced moves with the same skill.
QCPC offers drills to provide opportunities to work on your game. We offer drills to as many skill levels as we have resources for. To manage this we have guidelines on what’s needed to signup for a certain skill level. The guidelines are 1) have a USAPA or IPTPA rating at that skill level or 2) have been told by coaches to move to the next skill level drills. Please help us and our coaches by respecting these guidelines.

- All QCPC members are invited
- Free referee training session
- USAPA certified referee, Charlotte Jorgenson
- October 24 from 8:00-11:00 for classroom training
- On-court practical training at the GVR, East Center, Green Valley
This clinic will teach you not only how you can possibly win a couple of 'free' points in a match by knowing the rules, but it will help you feel confident in refereeing matches for fun and sometimes pay! Videos are used to supplement the instructor provided material.
It is recommended that you read the pickleball rules book, referee handbook, and if you are a USAPA member, you can take 3 highly informational tests. All this information is available at usapa.org.
General Court Attire
Just a reminder,
the POA resurfaced 8 of the courts this summer.
If you see scuff marks on the courts,
please make sure you are wearing the appropriate shoes.
Rubber-soled footwear is required.
Flip flops, hiking shoes, street shoes,
golf shoes, hard-heeled or black-soled shoes are not allowed.

Their partner does the same.

FUNDRAI$ING
The POA has finally approved the ability of the QCPC

We would like to form a committee of members
to come up with ideas (including a tournament)
to raise these funds.

please email Steve Shapiro (sshapiro57@gmail.com).
