NEW MEMBERS

STEVE COMITO
JACKIE COMITO

Before COVID closures the QCPC Board approved joining the Southern Arizona Pickleball League.  The Region that QCPC would play in would be the Tucson area.

Information about the League can be found at their website by CLICKING HERE.

The League would be made up of a Men's and Women's Doubles Division for 3.0/3.5/4.0+.  There will be no MXD.  A team will have 6 or more players on a team.  We can have as many teams as we come up within the Men's/Women's Division.  The cost to join the league will be about $15-$25 per player for the entire season.  Each Division (Men's or Women's 3.0/3.5/4.0+) would play once a week alternating between QCPC or the Tucson area.  The Clubs that are participating are GVR, Tucson Pickleball, Saddlebrooke Ranch, Saddlebrooke, and others.  The season lasts for 12 weeks beginning in January.

IPTPA or USAPA tournament ratings effective October 15, prior to the season start will be used for players with such a rating throughout the season. For all ratings, (USAPA, club ratings, etc.), it is the responsibility of the team captain (and club administrator where applicable) to assure the ratings are accurate and defendable to IFP and USAPA rating criteria no matter what the level.

Chillin’ in the Shade

Hot?
Want to get out of the sun
while waiting to get on your court?
Wouldn’t it be nice to sit in the shade?

With the new shade structure,
 we'll have more covered area
at the QC pickleball facility than ever.
Yeah!!
But seating is very limited right now
(the Ramada tables are out of service
and only one person can safely
sit on an alley bench at a time).
 What to do?

Bring a folding chair,

find the perfect spot
under the shade sails or Ramada,
keep your 6’+ distance
and make yourself comfortable!

(Due to COVID-19, chairs should not be shared except between members of the same household.

COURT AVAILABILITY

COURTS 5 - 8 and 12
will be unavailable during
shade structure installation.

Monday through Thursday

for two weeks

The Reservation Page
will reflect this.

ONE CLUB, ONE GOAL!

We are living in a historically difficult time.  Everyone is experiencing anxiety, frustration, or worse.  Members have a variety of opinions about what should and should not be done to cope with COVID-19.  Nonetheless, we all share a love of pickleball.

We are ONE CLUB with ONE GOAL.
We want our courts to remain open!
Everyone can agree with that.

Like it or not, rules have been imposed by Pima County and the QC POA that affect the use of QC amenities, including the pickleball courts.  The POA rules are a prerequisite for continued use of our courts.
The QC General Manager sent another reminder to the QCPC President this week reiterating that pickleball players are required to wear face coverings when at the pickleball facility (though not when on the courts playing).  The General Manager stated that he

“really want[s] to keep the courts open, but
if we cannot get compliance the courts may be closed.”

The QC Patrol will be visiting the pickleball courts daily in order to monitor compliance.

ONE CLUB, ONE GOAL!

In order to keep the pickleball courts open for play, the QCPC Board respectfully requests that all pickleball players bring and use a face covering when at the pickleball facility (except during games).

Please leave all POA signs and notices in place.

Someday all the stress and hardship caused by COVID-19 will be behind us.  Let’s do all we can to make sure that QCPC emerges unified and ready to resume all Club activities.  Enjoying each other’s company is just as important as playing pickleball.

ONE CLUB, ONE GOAL!
