COVID and YOU

We found out this week that one of our Club Members has COVID.  We feel that it is our responsibility to promote best practices and compliance with current health guidelines.  To that end, we strongly urge the following for all pickleball players:

  1. Engage in as much social distancing as possible at the courts.
  2.                   All players should wash their hands immediately                        before playing and sanitize your hands between games.
  3. Consider disinfecting balls before play as these are potential means of virus transmission to all players handling the balls.
  4.                   Masks to be worn from the parking lot until you enter the courts,                                                            but not during play.                                                             Also, you must wear a mask if you are sitting out a game.
  5. Do not play if you: (recommended guidelines from the USAPA and CDC)
    1.   Are exhibiting any symptoms of the coronavirus: mild to severe respiratory illness with fever, coughing, difficulty breathing, or other symptoms identified by the CDC.
    2.  Have been in contact with someone with COVID-19 in the last 14 day
    3.  Are a vulnerable individual with serious underlying health conditions, including high blood pressure, chronic lung disease, diabetes, obesity, asthma, or whose immune system is compromised such as by chemotherapy from cancer and other conditions requiring such therapy.
  6. Avoid contact with others, such as handshakes and high fives.
  7. Adhere to CDC guidelines by not touching your face (after handling a ball or paddle).
  8. Use your paddle and foot to pick up pickleballs and transfer them to your opponent .
  9. Be cautious about touching objects used by many people such as the restroom doorknobs, the water fountain, etc.
Keep Healthy and Safe
