Weekly Club Round Robins Are Back!
Back in the good old days before the pandemic (remember then?), there were Club round robins every Wednesday morning. These were open to members of all skill levels and very well attended. The round robin format ensured that members played with and against different members in every round. They were so much fun! Well close your eyes; we are turning the clock back to 2019!
Weekly Club Round Robins will resume
Wednesday, November 17th
from 8-10 AM.
To participate, you must check-in with Joyce Butler or Karen Morse at the courts between 7:30 AM and 7:50 AM (no Sign-up Genius). Late arrivals cannot be accommodated. These round robins are limited to the first 38 members to check-in (first come, first served). All participants should plan to play for the full two hours. Club Round Robins will take the place of Wednesday Open Play on courts 5-12.

We are privileged to have two of the best players in the world,
Riley and Lindsey Newman,
conducting clinics next Tuesday, November 16th.
As a result,
Open Play will have 6 courts from 8-9 AM,
but only 2 courts from 9-10 AM.
However, Open Play will be extended
on these two courts until 11 AM that day
for anyone willing to stay longer.
Thank you for your understanding.

Coming Soon!
The “Open Play Challenge Court”
What is the Open Play Challenge Court?
This is where to go if you want to test your skills by “playing up.” You and a partner will play other competitive players, including some of QC’s most skilled players. The Challenge Court is open to all Members. You do not need a rating, and you do not need to be an advanced player. This is not intended to be a slam-fest. Win or lose, it’s more about elevating your game and playing smart!
Many other pickleball clubs have challenge courts, and they are often very popular. Let’s try it here! Club Member Craig MacDonald will be there to answer questions and get this started.
When is it and where?
Every Thursday during Prime Time beginning on November 18th. Court 6 is the Open Play Challenge Court.
How does it work?
- Put your paddle in the paddle saddle mounted on the fence near the Challenge Court. If possible, do so with your favorite partner.
- When the previous game finishes, the winners stay for another game and the next two challengers enter to play.
- If there are four or more paddles in the paddle saddle, then a winning team is limited to two consecutive games. The first four challengers would play the next game. (This ensures a steady turnover of teams on the Challenge Court.)
- Teams coming off the Challenge Court can put their paddles back in the “challenge” paddle saddle or the regular Open Play paddle saddle, depending on where they want to play their next game.
Give the Open Play Challenge Court a try or come watch!
