COVID

As everyone is aware, COVID is still present.  We are aware of new cases in Quail Creek on a daily basis. While everyone is very excited to have the opportunity to play again, we all must remember that we are part of a Community, and each of us has a responsibility to protect the health of all Residents of our Community. The Quail Creek Pickleball Club Board encourages you to follow all safety recommendations and best practices.to

MEET THE NEW SOCIAL CHAIRPERSON

Many of you already know Roxanne
from the courts and the community.
She tells us about herself:

I met my husband Eldon at the University of Nebraska and after graduation, we
promptly moved to Mesa, AZ. It didn’t take long to figure out that Tucson was a
better fit for our family. I was Vice-President of Sales, Marketing and Strategic
Alliances for Canyon Ranch Health Resorts, retiring after 30 years. We have a very
close-knit family; our two daughters and their husbands live in NW Tucson. For
most of our marriage (53 years) horses were a big part of our lives. Quail Creek is
certainly a change but we are grateful that we made the decision to move here.
We thought we’d start playing tennis after a 30 + year hiatus but Pickleball won us
over. I play several times a week, am a Unit Rep, enjoy classes in the glass studio,
am a member of The Women of Quail Creek and enjoy our beautiful outdoors
either walking my dog Snickers or riding my bike.

There’s no replacing Joyce Butler,
she’s one of a kind, but I have a great team of
ladies that are going to help me plan our socials.

I look forward to your input.

A CHANGE IS HAPPENING

St. Jude Children's Research Hospital Fundraising Events

 A HUGE SUCCESS

OUR COMMUNITY COMES THROUGH AGAIN

As we hope you know, Club members sponsored a Pickleball Rodeo last Sunday.  It was great fun for all and congratulations to all the winners!  The Winners of the Division A Skills Contest was the team of Pat Kolarik, Judy Brown, Craig Witt and Sandra Hubbard.  The Division B Skills winners were Donna Davis, Jackie Comito, Steve Comito and Madelyn Witt.  The Gold Medal Winners in the Round Robin Relay were Rich Haupt, Kay Martens, Connie Olsen, and Jolece Oughton.  Susie Eckhardt, Dennis Grothaus, Deb Robinson and Christel Gibbons took Silver, and Pat Kolarik, Judy Brown, Craig Witt and Sandra Hubbard took Bronze.    Sorry if you missed it - It was a very good time!

Another St. Jude event, a holiday Gala, took place on the preceding Friday evening at our Madera Clubhouse.  It was attended by 96 folks and was also a very fun evening with entertainment by Will Foraker.

While the figures are still being finalized, it looks like the two events raised over $13,500 for St. Jude!   Thanks to all who participated and for all your generosity!

Quail Creekers are a great bunch of folks!
