Quail Creek-Saddlebrooke Ranch Competition

April 5, 2025, at the QC Courts

Players and Volunteers Needed

(Look for registration on CourtReserve next week)

The Quail Creek-Saddlebrooke Ranch Competition is coming back to Quail Creek on Saturday, April 5th, 10:00 AM.  QCPC has lots of pickleball talent, and this is our chance to show it!  Let’s bring the trophy back to QC this year!

Competition Format:

a. Separate Men’s and Women’s Divisions (no Mixed)

b. Levels: 2.5, 3.0, 3.5, and 4.0

c. Round Robins for both Divisions and all levels: Three QC pairs vs. three SR pairs (each QC doubles team plays a total of 6 games vs. SR teams)

d. Winner will be determined by the total number of games won by QC and SR teams.

Teams Must Register on CourtReserve.  There is room for only three QC teams per round robin.  Teams will be selected in the order of signup.  There will be waitlists in case teams drop out.  Registration closes March 30th.  If you aren’t sure which level is the appropriate one for competitive play (it might not be the same as Organized Play), contact Dave Mungo (303-335-6707) or another experienced competitive player for help.

Volunteers Needed: We need approximately 10 volunteers to collect scores and deliver them to the Scorekeepers.  We can’t host this event without you.  It’s easy, and you’ll see lots of pickleball action. Look for signups next week.

Volunteers Needed

NEW SCHEDULED PLAY CHAIR

Are you organized and detail oriented? Are you interested in meeting QCPC members? The position of QCPC Scheduled Play Chair may be a great fit for your talents. Madelyn Witt’s term ends this August and the Club is anxious to find a replacement. It would be ideal for an incoming Chair to spend some time with Madelyn this spring and summer, to help facilitate a smooth transition. If this is something you’d like to know more about, please reach out to Madelyn: scheduledplayqcpc@gmail.com

Nominees Needed

Election of QCPC Officers at the Annual Meeting in March

Do you love pickleball?  Do you participate in QCPC activities (socials, club round robins, player development, etc.)?  Do you use CourtReserve?  Do you look at QCPC newsletters, the club website, bulletin boards, and the QCPC Facebook page?  Do you sit under the shade sails or use the bike racks or pickleball machine?  If so, you are enjoying years of work by QCPC's officers and Board of Directors.

Each year, QCPC members elect new club officers (who also serve as members of the QCPC Board of Directors).  Elections will be held for the President and Treasurer positions at the Annual Meeting in March.  The Nominating Committee (John Lehman) is actively looking for candidates to fill these positions and a potential vacancy for Vice President.  These positions are essential to the club's continued success.

If pickleball in QC is important to you, this may be the right time for you to step up so that QCPC continues to thrive.  Newer members and players of all skill levels are welcome.  All you need is a willingness to work on behalf of all club members.  Please "pay it forward" so future QCPC members will enjoy playing here as much as you do.  QCPC needs you.   Contact John Lehman: jal722x@yahoo.com

Play video for sample of Brian's instruction.

Brian Martin is Back March 15 and 16

QCPC is very fortunate to have an instructor of Brian’s caliber and talent returning to teach club members. Intermediate and advanced players who want to elevate their games often must travel and pay more to get professional instruction of this quality.  Take advantage of this opportunity on your home courts.  Next classes are on Saturday March 15 and Sunday March 16.

Feedback from members who participated in Brian’s first session:

“I've been playing pickleball for a while but had never received any training on the fundamentals. I have been struggling to get consistency in my game, and I wasn't seeing the improvement I wanted. Brian’s coaching was a game-changer. It was exactly what I needed to give me the fundamental foundation I was looking for and take me to the next level. He has an incredible eye for detail and immediately identified some flaws in my technique that I hadn't been aware of. He patiently worked with me on everything from my dinking strategy to my serve, demonstrating a better technique and providing actionable feedback.”

~ Participant in Path to 4.0

Additional feedback from Survey:

“My general comment is that I have attended various clinics led by pro players including Scott Moore, Daniel Moore, and Sarah Ansboury in the past. In comparison, the Path to 4.0 Clinic with Brian and Rob surpassed any previous clinics.”

“I would recommend Brian’s classes to other club members. The benefits exceed the cost.”

“Brian… [is an] excellent instructor.  I would recommend it to any player trying to improve not only technique, but also their understanding of the game and strategy.”

Here’s is what you can expect:

Path to 4.0, Saturday and Sunday 9 am - noon:   A two-day foundational clinic for anyone hoping to break that 4.0 barrier and be competitive.  We’ll work on 8 key aspects of the game that you must understand to be successful on the court. ($275 pp)

LiveSHOT for 4.0/4.5 (Saturday @ 1 pm) and LiveSHOT for 3.5+ (Sunday @ 3 pm):   These are “Live” action sessions that allow you to implement new strategies in a competitive environment.  It’s a fun way to learn & build your skills! ($30 pp)

Road to 4.0 (Saturday @ 3pm) and Road to 4.5 Skills Training (Sunday @ 1 pm): These are practice sessions to learn new strategies and build skills through repetition.  It’s a must add to your drill routine if you want to see improvement to your game!  ($50 pp)

Registration is now open.

Looking Good = Better Play

The QC Pickleball Social Committee is giving you a chance to clean out your closet and come shop for some gently used women’s athletic clothing to spruce up your game.

March 3rd–8th drop off your gently used items (if you can’t see the label, it’s probably not “gently used”) at 1417 N. Miranda Ln. (there is a bin by the front door.)

The sale will be Tuesday, March 11th from 11:00–2:00 PM Lower Ramada. Items will be affordably priced. We will accept cash or checks.

Mimosas and appetizers will be available to enhance your shopping experience.

Lots of people came out this season to enjoy the sun and shade and APPL teams!

Lost and Found Items

If you find a lost item at the courts you can:

  • Place it in the Lost and Found tub at the Ramada.

  • Take it to the Lost and Found at the ANZA club. This would be especially helpful if it is an expensive item because the Lost and Found there is manned by employees.

  • Contact the owner if there is contact information on the item.

You can also post on the QCPC Facebook page if you lost or found an item. The pickleball club does not have the ability to email for lost or found items. Please be careful with your belongings while at the courts.
