Nine Things NOT to Do (😒) and One to ALWAYS Do (😊)

  1. Don’t reserve more courts than allowed (2 in Prime Time; 4 in non-Prime Time) multiple days in advance of play.  Reserving extra courts by other group members more than 24 hours before play is "cheating." (Give others a chance to reserve.)

  2. Don’t invite more than one local non-resident guest (per playing group) during Prime Time.  (Members have priority during Prime Time.)

  3. Don’t leave club balls on the courts when finished.  (Balls deteriorate when left out in the hot sun.)

  4. Don’t reserve more than two consecutive hours of court time per group.  (You know why.)

  5. Don’t leave gates open when finished.  (Desert mammals like our new courts and have been leaving “presents” for us.)

  6. Don’t reserve courts for other groups.  (Reserving members should play.)

  7. Don’t be a “no show.”  (Cancel reservations for courts that are no longer needed.)

  8. Don’t be shy about volunteering.  (QCPC needs volunteers to function.  If you enjoy the club, volunteer.)

  9. Don’t think no one will notice if you willfully ignore QCPC rules.  (Members see you.  Maintain your good reputation.)

In short, always be considerate of your fellow members!

“Q-TIPS”

From Gary Quantz, your USA/PPR Certified Instructor

I’m now almost at the end of my fourth teaching season with Quail Creek. A great big shout out to all those that have taken one of my classes this season. For you “stat geeks” here are my current numbers (as of April 18th) with four weeks of teaching left:

·      TOTAL STUDENTS – ALL TIME (currently) = 449

·      TOTAL STUDENTS – SEASON FOUR (currently) = 171

·      TOTAL NEW STUDENTS – SEASON FOUR (currently) = 68

Also, a great big shout out to all those wonderful volunteers on and off the court that make our pickleball experience here in Quail Creek second to none. When you look at all that is offered for our members, it’s truly amazing to see how lucky we are!

For any of those wanting to improve their game, I will offer lessons up to May 21st. Also, I may not leave now until early June so if any classes get added, I’ll let you know. Due to the hotter weather and by permission from our QCPC Board, I’m now allowed to teach during “Prime Time” in May. Classes will start at 8am. Also, I have great news; “Klinics with Kathy” will be offered on May 1st, 8th, & 15th for 3.5 students. One session per date will be scheduled from 8am to 10:30am.

2026 APPL

It's not too early to start thinking about playing on an Arizona Pickleball Players League (APPL) team next year.

In addition to the usual men's, women's, and mixed leagues, there men's and women's 2.5 leagues will be added next year.  In addition, the APPL Southern Region is planning to start a men's 3.5 70+ league to test a new format called Metro.  Four players will play each match on two courts instead of the usual six players on three courts.  Contact Dave Mungo at djmungo@hotmail.com if you are interested in this.

No Summer League

We had a minimal response in recruiting for a summer league committee, so we will not be offering a summer league. We hope to evaluate league options in the future.

Name Badges

John, the owner, is reliable and responsive, with a good product. We recommend ordering the magnetic backing rather than a pin backing. John has many color choices but keep in mind the darker the color you choose the harder your name may be to see.
