Prime Time Change

It’s that time of year again and the mercury is rising!  Prime time is moving to 7AM - 9AM starting June 1st through September 30th.  All of the events on the Court Reserve Calendar are current and will be modified accordingly!  Any questions should be sent to Madelyn Witt at QCPCScheduledPlay@gmail.com.

Afternoon Open Play Suspended

Due to the warmer days and reduced attendance, Afternoon Open Play will be suspended for the summer as of May 31st.

An Egg-Citing Spring Social

Our mixed Round Robin "Hop Into Spring" Social was attended by 64 players. It was rather hot, so we reduced playing time to 12 minutes to keep everyone comfortable. Everyone was encouraged to find the eggs hidden around the courts. And the Easter Bunny showed up and played pickleball with the group. After play everyone gathered in the ramada for pizza, salads and deserts. Some lucky people won prizes and there was a 50/50 drawing.

I’ve got to start my section of this newsletter by describing the new and absolutely incredible CANYON CLUB! The entire complex is AMAZING and has the look and feel of a first-rate resort. The exercise room has everything you need to maintain or get yourself in shape. The large outdoor pool, nearby hot tub, and indoor pool area is one of the best configurations I’ve ever seen for a community our size. Add in the Bistro food and bar, spa and health offerings, and comfy lounge areas all nestled within the beautiful backdrop of the Santa Rita Mountains; it just doesn’t get any better than this. If you haven’t already, I encourage everyone to check it out. It’s the new “happening place” (besides our own pickleball courts).

Although the “snowbirds” have started to leave, there are many of you still hanging around and playing. I’ll be offering classes now through the end of May for any of those still wanting to take lessons. I also want to reach out to those that have thought about taking a lesson but are just not sure. Give me a try! The main theme of any of my lessons is FUN with a bit of information, drills, and strategy thrown in. Now that the weather is warmer, my classes start either 8am or 10am.

I offer REGULAR (2.0, 2.5, 3.0, 3.5 student levels) and PRIVATE lessons weekly and still have two “KLINICS with KATHY” (3.5 level) classes left (Thursday, May 8 th and 15 th ). Here's your last chance of the season to sign up for any one of these popular classes. I’m out of town starting in June and won’t return until early October.
